Envylon is one of the gods of the New Faiths and is associated with summer, lineage, and the natural order of society. His teachings centre on the belief that the world is structured by design, and that every person is born into the place they are meant to occupy.

Within this structure, those of pure blood are meant to rule, while others are meant to serve. This is not seen as injustice, but as the foundation of a stable and functioning society.

Philosophy

Followers of Envylon believe that lineage determines destiny. Those born of strong or noble bloodlines have the right to lead, while others are expected to serve in accordance with their place.

Service, when performed with dignity and acceptance, is met with dignity in return. Those who embrace their role are believed to live fulfilled and meaningful lives, as they are living as they were intended to.

Family heritage defines not only status, but purpose. Children are expected to follow in the path of their parents, continuing the traditions and professions of their lineage. A blacksmith’s child becomes a blacksmith, a farmer’s child remains tied to the land, and those born into nobility are raised to rule.

Exceptional traits are seen as blessings granted by Envylon. Beauty, talent, or skill are not viewed as freedoms, but as indicators of how a person may best serve within the established order. Those gifted in such ways are often placed in positions where their abilities benefit noble households or reinforce the structure of society.

To outsiders, followers of Envylon are often regarded as rigid or zealous. Among those who believe, however, his teachings are seen as truth: a world in which everyone knows their place is a world that functions as it should.

Patronage

Envylon is a male deity and is regarded as the patron of men, masculinity, and traditional male roles. He is also seen as the patron of men who are attracted to women.

Summer is counted as the season of Envylon. It reflects visibility, prosperity, and the height of structure within society, when roles are clearly defined and upheld.

Priests and Paladins

Devotees of Envylon serve within the shared structure of the New Faiths. Priests uphold the teachings of lineage and order, while paladins embody these ideals through discipline, loyalty, and the protection of established hierarchies.
